Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I would like to start tutoring again, so that I can see the excitement of a student improving themselves. I feel that I have a wealth of knowledge to share in all subjects but especially mathematics. My work with state assessments for the last 3 years has provided me with a fresh insight as to why students struggle to learn and struggle to prove that learning has occurred on these assessments.
Why should a student pick you?
- I have a ton of experience helping students improve their math skills. I worked in an at risk school for 5 years and helped hundreds of students improve their math skills and thus their test results. I work in the educational industry, so I am exposed to some of the most innovative and 'cool' teaching strategies that exist. I have worked with students who achieve at every level, including special education, learning disabled, GT, and many more. My work currently involves state standardized tests for the general education population and for the Alternative education population. This has provided me a wealth of experience and has provided me some insight in to where math education and special education are headed in the near future.
Personal Statement:
- I promise to do my best to improve my tutees achievement level. That includes tutoring the content of the subject and the strategies necessary to be a successful and educated student.
